Empowering Recovery With A Harm Reduction Approach

Our offices specialize in providing medications for opioid use disorder utilizing a harm-reduction approach. We understand that recovery is not uniform nor linear and that the nature of substance use is unpredictable. We work to keep our client’s safe and to minimize the risk associated with opiate or other drug use.

What You Can Expect When Starting Our Suboxone Clinic at Alteri Behavioral Health

For individuals starting buprenorphine treatment you will come into our office once a week for an appointment with your medical provider. This will continue until you provide 8 urine drug screens that are negative for illicit substances.

At that point, you will being seeing the provider once every 2 weeks. There is not set amount of time that an individual remains on a bi-weekly schedule as it depends on multiple factors including urine drug screens, compliance with therapy requirements, etc. Clients are moved to a monthly schedule at the discretion of the medical provider.

Throughout the duration of the program clients are expected to participate in a minimum of two individual therapy sessions per month. These sessions will occur with a qualified mental health professional who is licensed in the state of KY to provide therapy for both mental health and substance use disorders. Therapy is client directed meaning, it can focus on whatever issues or concerns are specifically impacting you.
